- Fashion at the 2014 Grammy's -

The 56th Annual Grammy Awards took place on Sunday, the show was great with Lorde, Daft Punk and Pharrell winning big, my favourite performances were Beyoncé and Jay Z opening the show with 'Drunk in Love' as well as the Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar collaboration which was insane as I love both of them. Although there was a lot of great fashion on the red carpet I have just selected my absolute favourites as well as some ones that I couldn't not mention!

BEST
Taylor swift (left) and Beyoncé (right)
My absolute favourite has got to be Taylor Swift in Gucci Premiere , she literally looks perfect, I can't fault a thing! I love how the hair is laid back and simple, and the pretty makeup really compliments the edgy but beautiful chain mail dress. It can't be seen in the image above but she was wearing super high platforms which paired with the fact that is already 5ft 11inches meant she looked so tall and statuesque, I really cannot praise this look enough. Beyoncé wore, up and coming designer, Michael Costello who made a name for him self on project runway, the nude and white dress fitted her like a glove which is key with a dress as figure hugging and unforgiving as this one. Although something about this dress is slightly unoriginal for me I cant deny that she and her figure look stunning and at the end of the day props to her stylist for preserving her modestly some how!

BEST MUSIC DUO/ COUPLE
(left to right) Macklemore/Ryan Lewis - John Legend/Chrissy Teigen - Daft Punk
Even though if I looked at these suits separately I wouldn't love them or possibly even like them, when Macklemore and Ryan Lewis stand together the suits look great together and I just think they present themselves as the cool, modern music duo that they are. Staying with musical duos I thought I would mention daft punk because the French electronic music pair looked sharp, their suits, which are tailored perfectly, and shoes are all business and then they have finished the look with there individual signature robot accessories(!?). Lastly my best dressed couple was newly married John Legend(in Gucci) and Chrissy Teigen (in Johanna Johnson), I don't have much to say other than, he looks sharp and classic, she looked stunning and glamorous and they look incredible together!

PHARRELL
I couldn't not mention the hat! Pharrell Williams wore an incredibly underwhelming outfit with an incredibly weird hat. The hat aside the jackets cool, the jeans and boots on the other hand are not my favourite, I think its all just a bit underdressed for such and important event however I have to give him some props for purely acknowledging it as music show not a fashion show because as much as I love talking about the fashion I think its important to remember what it really about! As far as the hats concerned between first seeing it and writing this post its weirdly grown on me..unfortunately not enough to save this odd outfit.

Golden Globes & SAG Awards Fashion

Award season is officially underway, which means I am going to be watching a lot of E! live from the red carpet and indulging my self in the beautiful dresses I could never afford, the first two major award shows are the Screen Actors Guild awards and the Golden Globes, here are my best dressed from each..

SAG
Lupita Nyong'o (left) and Isla Fisher (right)
My first pick is Lupita Nyong'o in Gucci, although I am not a massive fan of the floral aspect of the dress I definitely think it's an essential part of the design and takes the dress from being too simple to something really stunning, secondly the colour looks so incredible against her skin tone and I love how the blue eye shadow ties the look together. I'm also loving Isla Fisher in Oscar de la Renta, I am a sucker for old Hollywood glamour and I feel this look epitomizes it, the delicate dress mirrors the soft curls in her hair and the look is finished off with tasteful jewellery and a deep red lip.

Golden Globes
Tatiana Maslany (left) and Lupita Nyong'o (right)
Although the whole look isn't perfect there is something I really love about this Jenny Packham dress on Tatiana Maslany. In an ideal world the tailoring around her waist would be better and her hair would be in a similar style to Isla Fishers above, that being said I think the dress is stunning due to simplistic shape and intricate detailing. Secondly, again I love Lupita Nyong'o which is unsurprising since she has already been dubbed Hollywood's new fashion it girl, she clearly has a thing for simple shapes and bold block colours. This Ralph Lauren cape dress is one of the best things I have seen on the red carpet for a while, I love how she kept it simple with minimalistic makeup and jewellery and made sure that the dress remained the focus.

What I Got For Christmas!

Happy 2014! I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year, apologises for my complete fail at posting, its mainly due to Christmas and revising for my A-level mocks but also I have felt a little uninspired in terms of posts. That being said I am aiming to try and do roughly a post a week (or 4 posts a month) from now on at least until my proper exams in the summer.

My Christmas Presents!

Unlike most years I didn't have one main present in mind, instead I asked for a collection of smaller bits that I had been lusting after. The first and probably my favourite is this houndstooth scarf from Zara, it's super oversized sized and soft and I have worn it pretty much every time I have left the house since I got it.

A few beauty bits I got .. O.P.I matte top coat, Barry M black nail varnish, Real Techniques make up brushes, Soap and Glory body scrub and body butter and a cath kidston wash bag

I also got the vogue calendar which I get every year as well as this really sweet book about coco Chanel from my friend Hollie:)

I also received some Jack Wills gloves from my brother, a giraffe onesie from my sister and
a fair amount of chocolate including the classic Lindt reindeer which, along with the vogue calendar, is a tradition!

Needless to say im extremely grateful for what I got and love everything! Feel free to leave a comment letting me know what you got or link me to a post you did about it and I would love to give it a read:)

Be sure to follow on GFC/bloglovin and I am happy to follow you back if you let me know in the comments x

N.B. I apologise for using web photos, I attempted to take some of my own but, what with limited day light and a less than average camera they were not great!
